Out of the box: Kat's favourite for dark indoor areas
Shittake Log

Kat’s favourite indoor option for dark areas of the house. If you have a space indoors which is too dark to grow indoor plants, why not one of these spectacular shiitake logs? We've been enjoying watching the logs sprout mushies since they arrived! Cheaper than buying them at the supermarket, and a great way to learn about the mushroom world. Shiitake are a super healthy ingredient, boosting immunity (we all need that at the moment) and naturally containing Vitamin D, among many other benefits.

Volunteer Camellia
Is it PINK or Red??

The answer is, both. Camellia ‘Volunteer’ starts out red and ages to a soft pink. Each petal has a distinctive white edge and it’s flower is Peony like in structure. Contrasting dark green leaves make it stunning as a screen for the shade or a specimen in a pot at the front door. Perfect for cutting and putting in a vase or floating in a water
bowl.
Hellebores(Winter Rose)
Are short perennials to 30cm and a perfect planting partner underneath Camellias. They can be cut and also floated in a bowl. In such an array of flower colours and petal pattern  they offer a superb display in winter.

Boston Fern

A classic favorite fern. Soft and feathery leaves, lush and green. A necessity if creating the forest inside your home (well we think so!). The boston fern was also found to be great in keeping indoor air healthy.

Wong Bok
Chinese Wong Bok is an upright cabbage with delicate, pale green leaves and creamy stems. It has a milder flavour than traditional cabbage and is an extremely versatile asian green for the veggie garden and kitchen. Wong Bok is delicious in stir fries, steamed, fresh in salads or boiled.

Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma)

Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma) is a climbing (or trailing) indoor plant with 'cut out' leaves similar to the classic Monstera. It will climb or trail around the house as you please. When the plant is developed it looks awesome against a white wall and would be a good candidate for climbed around doorways for the real jungle vibes.

Pyrethrum Long Life for aphids
& fungus gnats

Currently there is an increased number of small black aphids on the fresh growth of some plants, including camellias and ferns. Make sure you are supplying plants with adequate water if in pots and also in the ground if it has not been raining. Aphids are attracted to plants which are suffering from drought stress. Use Pyrethrum Long Life to spray any type of plant with aphids. This spray can also be useful in the treatment of fungus gnats, which are the tiny flies you may find hovering above your indoor plants or in terrariums. Give plant soil a light spray and make sure it drys out somewhat between each watering.
